Für reiche Seeleute: Flasche Rum für 26.000 englische Pfund
Dass Whisk(e)y, Wein und cognac zu den edleren Getränken zählen, darf getrost als bekannt vorausgesetzt werden. Nicht umsonst erzielen bestimmte Jahrgänge bzw. bestimmte Abfüllungen regelmäßig Höchstpreise auf Auktionen. Doch nun scheint auch der Rum in die Phalanx der Luxusgetränke einzudringen. So berichtet die BBC über eine Flasche jamaikanischen Rum, die für sage und schreibe 26.000 englische Pfund, also knappe 40.000 Euro angeboten wird.

The drink, made by the Jamaican distillers Wray and Nephew, is worth £26,000 and is one of only four unopened bottles in the world.
It was bottled in the 1940s using different blends, the oldest of which was about 25 years old, meaning some of the liquid dates back to about 1915.
Ich frage mich nur, in welcher Form diese edle Getränk dann letztlich getrunken wird, denn für einen profanen Mojito ist so ein teurer Schluck dann wohl doch zu schade ….
