Henk: Ein Koffer à la James Bond
No Suitcase – so lesen wir auf der Webseite des Kofferherstellers Henk. Doch wie sonst – frage ich mich, sollte man die Taschen des niederländischen Designers Henk van de Meene bezeichnen. Einen Versuch unternimmt 20Ltd.:
A Henk really is a quite extraordinary object. It has 500 separate component parts for a start – 22 of them moving – fashioned variously from red Italian burl, black Madagascar ebony, horse hair, magnesium, aluminum, titanium, parachute fabric and the finest leathers. At the heart of the invention and the key to its phenomenal strength (you can sit on it) and astonishing lightness is its carbon-fibre composite shell baked in an autoclave oven like the cockpit of a formula 1 car. Its mechanisms are particularly Bond-like, subtly positioned and with treacle-smooth actions.
Und auch, wenn man auf den Preis des auf fünf Exemplare limitierten Reiseutensils schaut, fühlt man sich unweigerlich an James Bond erinnert. 22.000 US-Dollar sind nun wahrlich ein stolzer Preis doch dafür bekommt man auch ebenso viele Funktionen geboten, wie bei einem Schweizermesser. Luxury Portfolio schreibt dazu:
It has far too many features to be listed here, but they include wheels and storage spaces that appear at the push of a button, a special briefcase compartment, and an anti-theft cable that you can attach to your person
So lädt schon der Reisekoffer dazu ein, auf Entdeckungsreise zu gehen, bis man all seine Funktionen ausprobiert hat.
