Patek Philippe: Armbanduhr für eine knappe Million
Dass Uhren hier und da echte Luxusgegenstände sein können, setze ich als bekannt voraus. Doch eine Uhr für 1,2 Millionen US-Dollar ist immer noch eine Seltenheit. Die Rede ist hier von der Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon, die auf einer Auktion die stolze Summe von $1,240,400 einbrachte. Laut Bornrich ist damit gleichzeitig der Rekord für Armbanduhren in den USA gebrochen.
Der Hersteller Patek Philippe scheint momentan auch abseits dieses Meisterstücks recht angesagt zu sein, denn auch andere Uhren des schweizerischen Herstellers verkauften sich überaus gut:
Other than the Ref. 5002 wrist watch, many other Patek Philippe watches did extremely well, with the lot 277, Ref. 5050 set in pink gold with Roman numerals auctioned for $146,150 and the lot 278, the pink gold Ref. 3970E sold for $123,150. Receiving more honors, the Patek Philippe "so-called TV watches" including the yellow gold Ref. 5020, lot 152 and the pink gold, lot 279 were auctioned off for a world record price of $232,400.
